As Development Controller, Ms. Ellison is responsible for the financial reporting and day-to-day activities for all projects in the development company which relate to affordable mixed–income and conventional housing. She is also in charge of preparing consolidated financial statements and final 8609 applications. Ms. Ellison coordinates the cost certifications, 10% carryovers, and year-end audits, as well as managing development budgets.
Ms. Ellison has over 13 years of experience in accounting within the real estate industry, and an extensive background in Section 42 Low-Income Housing Tax Credits. Previously, Ms. Ellison worked at Rea Ventures Group as a Controller, where she oversaw the low income tax credit process and financial reporting for the company and projects in development. She also handled due diligence for closing construction loans, HUD Rural Development, and investor financing.
Prior to joining Rea Ventures Group, Ms. Ellison was a senior associate at CohnReznick (formerly Reznick Group) where she performed audits, cost certifications, 10% carryovers, break-even analyses and compilations for conventional, historic and bond-financed developments.
EDUCATION / AFFILIATIONS:
Ellison graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She is a volunteer with the Shepherd Center, as well as Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in Atlanta, Georgia.
